An Ode to Purr-Babies
Throughout my life, cats have always been a source of joy and love. Our cat, Callie, grew up with me into middle school, but I unfortunately remember little of her, aside from that joy and love. I'm dedicating this piece to the cats in my adult life since I met my wife, Becky. They each have a special place in my heart, and this piece is a tribute to them. The first movement describes the pain I felt when losing Cuddles and Chloe. The second movement describes the joy, love, and playfulness they all bring while on this Earth. The piece is also meant to be somewhat educational in nature and is a great tool for an intermediate player to learn expressiveness and somewhat more advanced techniques of music-making.
Echo Taps
Taps has always been near and dear to me for almost as long as I've played the Trumpet. I have played it more times than I can count. I decided to write this arrangement to give tribute to those and all Veterans and Service Members. It is also a way of helping the "Echo Taps Worldwide" cause. "Echo Taps Worldwide" was first done on May 19, 2007, in recognition of Armed Forces Day at National Cemeteries, State Veterans Cemeteries and American Battle Monuments Cemeteries overseas.

The Freedom Brass Band of Northeast Ohio directed by Robert D. Jorgenson performs Zack Richards' "The Last Full Measure of Devotion." Soloists: David Richmond, Trumpet Linda Gingerich, Flugelhorn Daniel Wyant, Euphonium Carolyn Curtis, Cornet Mary Jean Lyon, Timpani.

Sing for Joy! is a song for Contemporary Praise Band with lyrics and music by Zack Richards. It was commissioned by First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Strongsville, OH for the celebration of Pastor Chuck Knerem's 30th anniversary of his ordination on July 17th, 2016. It is performed by the Contemporary Praise Band with soloist Jordan Novak. All music and photos in this video were created by and are owned by Zack Richards.
